2016 HOCKEY VICTORIA INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP

On behalf of the Board and Management of Hockey Victoria (HV) I am writing to advise you of some exciting changes to the Hockey Victoria Membership in 2016. As many of you will know, in the past players and spectators have been required to make a payment at the gate to the State Netball Hockey Centre (SNHC) when playing or spectating hockey related activities. From 1 April 2016, SNHC entry will be included in HV membership’s, and access to the SNHC will be on presentation of the 2016 HV Membership card.

PLAYERS – HV COMPETITION & METROPOLITAN AFFILIATE MEMBERS

As part of the Membership registration process, which opens on 1 February 2016, HV Competition Members and HV Metropolitan Affiliate Members will receive SNHC entry with their 2016 membership.
Members will receive a ‘membership card’ in the mail which will need to be scanned when entering the SNHC from 1 April 2016.
Failure to present your membership card at the SNHC will result in members needing to pay at the gate as per previous years, with the income from the gate going directly to the State Sports Centres Trust (SSCT).
It is important to understand with a gate fee being collected via the ‘HV Membership Registration’ the money remains within hockey, ensuring that we can continue to invest into development programs and initiatives to improve the sport.

PLAYERS – REGIONAL COMPETITION ONLY

Regionally based members will not incur the additional fee for entry to the SNHC as part of their ‘HV Membership Registration’, however Regional participants involved in High Performance Programs, State Teams, Hockey Victoria Events and Programs based at the SNHC will be provided with the opportunity to purchase a membership with access at the point of registration, however this is not compulsory.
Regional members who purchase a membership that includes SNHC entry, will receive a ‘membership card’ in the mail which will need to be scanned when entering the SNHC from 1 April 2016.
Failure to present your membership card at the SNHC will result in members needing to pay at the gate as per previous years, with the income from the gate going directly to the State Sports Centres Trust (SSCT).

As a guide please find an example of the change;
• a senior player who plays 2 matches at the SNHC per year and watches another 2 matches, plus attends the HV Grand Final would normally pay in excess of $30.00 annually. In 2016, the participant will pay an additional $10.00. A saving of more than $20.00.

SUPPORTERS

An exciting new membership category will be offered in 2016, which is ideal for all Hockey Supporters.
The “HV Supporter Membership” is recommended for parents, families, coaches, team managers, club administrators, spectators and other non-playing supporters.
Like many of the playing membership’s the ‘Supporter Membership’ will enable access to the SNHC from 1 April 2016, for hockey activities such as matches, programs, HV events and the finals series.
The’ HV Supporter Membership’ will be $20.00, of which $5.00 will go directly to the supporter members’ club.
The HV Supporter Membership card must be presented upon entry to the SNHC on each visit. If the card cannot be presented at the gate, the supporter will need to make a payment at the gate before entering the facility, as per the current process.
We would also like to advise that the Individual Membership fees have increased for players in 2016. This is due to a significant increase (approximately 180%) in recruitment and community hockey initiatives.

Please click here to view the 2016 membership fees and a summary of Membership inclusions.    Registration Victoria Gippsland Hockey

Finally we look forward to seeing the community enjoying the usage of the SNHC in 2016 and look forward to the community embracing this exciting change. 2016 will be a really exciting year for hockey through the variety of HV programs, events and competitions as well as the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras playing for Gold in Rio.
All the best for the up and coming hockey season.

Kind Regards,

Andrew Skillern
