A very warm welcome to those who are new to the Club too.
Enclosed is a Drouids “Intention Form” for the 2015 winter season. Prompt completion and return is hugely appreciated – via the stamped and addressed envelope with this newsletter. Please reply promptly to let the committee know so planning can get underway – also let us know promptly if you are NOT intending to play this season.
We need this back ASAP

‘Bring A Friend’
We are always looking to recruit new players, whether novices or experienced, so please think about potential players amongst your friends and acquaintances. Either follow this up yourself OR provide contact details on the Intention Form. Junior players are encouraged to “invite a friend” to the 2nd and 3rd training sessions (19th and 26th March). The Club has spare shin pads and sticks for those trying out those nights. Invitations will be given out at the first training session.
Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Team Manager Positions
These positions will be finalised shortly. Please confirm your interest on the Intentions Form or give President Paul a call on 5626 8252.
We would value teams also having Assistant Coaches. This has proved to be a great way to gain experience in coaching without having to take the main role. Experienced junior players, who in many cases have excellent knowledge of skills, training drills and on-field tactics, may wish to consider assisting with coaching.
Hockey Victoria Registration
This is new this year – all players MUST register directly with Hockey Victoria at https://memberdesq.onesporttechnology.com/3/org. Here you will have to pay directly to Hockey Victoria either $35 or $45 as a junior/senior player for 2015. This is your insurance and general association costs.
To be able to play round 1 this must be done before the competition season begins – if not, then there is no insurance for you. The Club cannot let you take the field until this is completed. If you need help with this process please ask other members or someone on the committee.
Fee structure is different in 2015 due to the change with Hockey Victoria (see above highlighted text box) Hockey Vic.). Previously all insurance costs were incorporated in club fees which were then passed onto Hockey Victoria via WGHA.
As players have to register and pay insurance costs with Hockey Vic directly, the fees due to Drouids have been altered down.
For 2015 payments to Drouids are required as follows:
• Under 8 – $45; Under 10/12/14/17, older students & adult concession – $95; adults – $125.
Overall this is a $5 increase in fees for all players from last year (combining Hockey Vic. & the Club fees). The committee note that again for the second year there is no Equipment Levy being applied (for expensive goalie gear and other items). As well as this – these fees allow players to play two games per weekend were possible/required, as well as having access to training.
For 2015 the committee also require all players to have either paid fully or made a part payment of their fees before round one.
Please contact the treasurer/president if you wish to be on an agreed payment plan. We are happy to have this in place wherever it is needed/required. To Play in Round 1 payment/payment plan needs to be in place.
Note $10 discount for second and subsequent players from the one family in levels Under 8 – Under 17 still applies.
